Nomadic Living: Opening Privacy
Various Locations, Fall 2013 Instructor: Janet Stegman Nomad travels with his/ her passions and the nomadic dwelling has to be adaptable to varying conditions, and to offer shelter and mobility while still evoking the essence of home. This project requires me to conceive, enlist and create a structure that provides comfort, utility and flexibility. After looking at serveral precedents of flexible living, I realized that many cases limit the possibility for movable dwelling units to adjust base on different environments. Therefore, my project is to maxizimize the transformation of a portable living vehicle under various settings, especially privacy configuration. Not only the ways to arrange the movable furniture are considerred, my design allows the vehicle to completey open up or close off, in order to support a flexible living style. Thus, I titled my project, ‘Opening Privacy’.
