INTAR Senior Show: Intarvention

Providence, RI, Spring 2015 Instructor: Liliane Wong Ka Hong Jonathan Ng, Audrey Lee, Eugenie Jeong, Michelle Munive, Eugenia Rieutort-louis, Cynthia Darmawan, Dakota Linkel, Jacqueline Zhao For the first time ever, graduating seniors in Interior Architecture are exhibiting their work in an installation that reflects our department’s focus on transforming existing structures. Instead of individual presentations, we decided to unite everyone’s work in the same space and to define our department, Interventions + Adaptive Reuse (INTAR). The first thing you see when you enter the CIT Lobby space is the 22 suspended laser-cutted panels. A wall full of renderings representing our visions for our previous projects can be peaked through the panels, there is also a strip of 3D-printed concept models along with the renderings, providing a complete sense of what the projects are about, as the panels consist of different laser-cutted floorplans, sections and hybrid drawings from the projects. On the side of the installation is another strip of QR codes that are linked to our personal websites and portfolios. Located at the back of the installation is a wall of names of graduating seniors and Eugenie’s prototype cardboard model, which is seemingly embraced by all the suspended panels.

Special thanks to the RISD carpenters Joe Lamontagne and Joe Pirraglia for helping us installing the panels from high up
